Athabasca Riverfront Park

Stretch your legs and enjoy the view of the mighty Athabasca River! Don’t forget to pack a lunch and a Frisbee for your visit! Riverfront Park!


Rotary

Spray & Play Park

The Hinton Rotary Club, a group of very generous businesses and many citizens who contributed time and money to complete the park. The Rotary Spray and Play Park is unique in Canada, even North America, providing barrier free access to both the wet and dry play areas. The Park also offers specialized installations for children with challenges. 

The Park provides great opportunity for recreation for every kid in the community, allowing for unencumbered access for all children.    

The Rotary Spray and Play Park is located adjacent and the east of the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre.



Municipal Parks

Hinton is fortunate to have so much park area. Public area includes a dog park, the Mary Reimer Park and many others. For a list of parks and trails Hinton Parks & Trails.

Provincial & Federal Parks

The area surrounding Hinton is rich  with parks including the Obed Lake, Sundance and William A. Switzer Provincial Parks and a number of federally protected areas including Jasper National Park including the Miette Hot Springs and the Willmore Wilderness Area.  For more information go to Provincial Parks in the Area. – Federal Parks in the Area.

Historical Driving Tour

Visit the Travel Alberta Information Centre or any municipal building to pick up a copy of the historical driving tour map. Learn about Hinton’s history and get to know more about our town!

Cardinal Divide

Travel the historic Coal Branch route, down Highway 40 south to Cadomin. Hike the Cardinal Divide trail along Alberta’s Northern Rocky Mountains. Its a great trip for families.
