Jessica Zimmer

Tell us a little about you and your business.

I am a lifelong Hintonite who joined Royal Bank in 2012. Over my nearly 10 years of working at RBC I have had the pleasure of experiencing several different roles and job opportunities within the company, and have most recently become the Branch Manager here in Hinton. My biggest passion over the years has been helping people grow their financial literacy.

What led you to become a Chamber Board Member?

Back in 2019 when I joined the Chamber Board, I was Royal Bank’s Commercial Account Manager for Hinton & Edson. I was looking for ways to deepen my understanding of Hinton’s economy and I wanted to be involved in helping it thrive. Before becoming a Chamber board member I was an active volunteer at many different events over the years, and being on the Chamber board was a great opportunity to take my volunteer work to another level.

Why is being a board member important to you?

A strong business community impacts everyone in Hinton! We have an amazing town here and it’s important to me to contribute to bringing Hinton to its highest potential.

Do you have a ‘fun’ business tip you’d like to share?

Know your resources and ask for help when you need it! You can’t be expected to be an expert in everything, but you should be able to build a team of experts you can lean on when you need it- whether that’s reaching out to your Chamber, Community Futures, accountant or banker for tailored advice and solutions to help your business succeed.
