The Hinton Chamber created a database of offers and services provided by local
businesses during the Jasper Fire and shared this information with formal groups like FCSS,
Parks Canada and the Red Cross, as well as the Jasper Evacuees group. The Chamber also
compiled business impact data in the wake of the fire, which was used to inform advocacy
efforts for small business emergency supports. Through these efforts, Red Cross agreed to help
local businesses with up to $1,000.
