Hinton is a Healthcare Hub
Our central location and great facilities have resulted in Hinton becoming the Healthcare Hub for the west-Yellowhead. The Hinton Healthcare Centre (General Hospital) has been recognized as an important training facility for rural doctors. Each year young doctors take training in our clinics. This gives the community access to young doctors and new idea. Once these young doctors get a sense of the quality of life in Hinton, it provides us a foot-up on hiring these doctors as they graduate.

Seniors Care
Being a young community, Hinton has had to build supports for its first major round of seniors. The Lions Sunset Manor provides housing for low-income, but self-sufficient seniors. The Pine Valley Lodge provides more support for seniors who are still self-sufficient, but desire some medical or other supports from 24 hours staff. Good Samaritan Mountain View Centre is designated assisted living for seniors who require the highest level of care.
