Hinton has educational opportunities for everyone, offerings are available for all learners, from pre-school to senior adult learning courses. Hinton is serviced by both the public and Catholic school boards, which provide 5 schools to choose from as well as off-campus learning opportunities. Children can attend from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in either system.

GPRC and Hinton Adult Learning provide programming for adults. The Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC – Hinton) delivers post-secondary education in Hinton. GPRC offers as wide variety of programs including university studies, options for degree completion, certificate, diploma programs, trades and continuing education programs. The Hinton Training Centre (HTC) is internationally recognized forestry training facility. HTC offers both Forest and Lands Management and Wildfire Training.
